Adelaide Symphony Orchestra
To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra transformed Rundle Mall into a spectacular open-air concert venue with a free live performance in the heart of the city.
For one afternoon only, a 55-piece orchestra delivered a powerful large-scale orchestral performance, bringing the beauty of classical music to shoppers and visitors. As the Orchestra’s first performance of this scale in Rundle Mall in more than a decade, the event offered a rare opportunity to experience world-class live music in an unexpected outdoor setting.
The activation showcased how Rundle Mall can become a unique stage for major cultural experiences, attracting families, city workers and visitors to pause, connect and celebrate one of South Australia’s most iconic arts organisations. By making classical music accessible in a vibrant public space, the performance created a memorable anniversary celebration while reinforcing Rundle Mall’s role as the city’s premier destination for community events and cultural activations.
